Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect on our early-stage marketing site, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Last updated: August 5, 2026
1. Who we are
Alera (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at alera.labs (and related domains that may point to it, including aleralabs.io when used). We are an early-stage health-tech company based in Atlanta, Georgia, building disease-trajectory intelligence for pharmaceutical R&D and research partners.
Contact: Atlanta, GA · alera.labs
2. Scope
This policy applies to information collected through our public website and newsletter signup. It does not cover clinical products, patient care systems, or data processed under a separate research, data-use, or business agreement. Alera does not currently offer a clinical decision-support or diagnostic product through this site.
3. Information we collect
When you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us for research interest, we may collect:
- Identity and contact: name and email address
- Professional context: role (for example, Pharma R&D, academic researcher, clinician, investor, or other) and organization
- Intent: optional free-text describing why you are reaching out
- Technical signals: limited server logs such as IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), timestamps, and basic request metadata
We use a honeypot field on the newsletter form to discourage automated submissions. Humans should leave that field blank; bots that fill it are rejected and no data from those requests is retained for marketing.
4. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Send occasional newsletter updates and milestone notes
- Send a confirmation email after you subscribe
- Follow up with qualified research or pharmaceutical partners about potential collaboration, when relevant
- Protect the service (rate limiting, spam and abuse prevention)
- Improve the clarity and reliability of our site
We do not sell personal data. We do not use newsletter submissions for advertising networks or data brokers.
5. Email delivery (Resend)
Confirmation and newsletter emails are sent using Resend, a transactional email provider, over TLS. Resend processes your email address and message content solely to deliver mail on our behalf. Delivery depends on our Resend configuration and domain verification.
6. Storage and security
Newsletter submissions are stored in an encrypted, append-only store using industry-standard cryptography (AES-256-GCM). Access is limited to systems and operators needed to run the newsletter and respond to research inquiries.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We take reasonable measures appropriate to an early-stage marketing site, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Retention
We retain newsletter and inquiry records for as long as needed to operate the mailing list, respond to partnership interest, and meet legal or security obligations. You may request deletion of your subscription record by contacting us. We will process reasonable requests within a practicable timeframe, subject to residual backups and logs that may expire on a delayed schedule.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
This site is primarily a static marketing experience. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or analytics SDKs that track you across the web. The site may use essential browser storage or session mechanisms required for normal operation (for example, security and form abuse prevention).
If we introduce analytics or non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, provide additional notice or choice.
9. Sharing
We may share personal information only with:
- Service providers that help us operate the site (for example, Resend for email), under obligations to protect the data
- Professional advisors or authorities when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality
10. Your choices
- You may decline to submit the newsletter form; it is voluntary
- You may request access, correction, or deletion of your newsletter data by contacting us
- You may unsubscribe from future marketing emails using the method described in those emails, or by contacting us
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law. We will respond to requests consistent with those laws.
11. Children
The site is intended for professionals and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International visitors
We are based in the United States. If you access the site from another country, your information may be processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy for future interactions.
